3|2 time jump?

I have noticed on several occasions that when my opponent's time drops down to 10 or less seconds, it will suddenly jump back up to 18+ seconds. Has anyone else noticed this (playing on a PC)

Thanks Martin. It's just odd that the "catch up" events only seem to happen at the lower time remaining situations.
