Some very good advice Levar! I do have one more question though... often times in bullet, I already feel like I'm struggling after the first move. I just don't know what to play, and usually end up losing before long. So, since you say that playing slowly can help you avoid making mistakes, how much time should I spend on the first move if I want to avoid digging myself into a hole from the beginning?

Thank you macer! That is an excellent question. Perhaps I should have addressed this in the opening remarks. There is one thing I should say, though: NEVER play the same opening twice! This will make you turn into a robot, aimlessly playing moves just because you have played them before. So, take as much time as you need to make sure that you have NEVER played the line before. 10-15 seconds on each of the first few moves is quite appropriate.
