In Live games it's not easy, or sometimes possible, to claim the draw with premoves and potentially low time on the clock. So it was changed to automatic a while back.
It's still a claimed draw in Daily, as far as I know.
At most super GM events there is not allowed to offer a draw before move 30. So if they want to draw, they repeat position 5 times, throwing ostentatious looks at the arbiter and he then has to claim the game as draw according to five times repetition draw rule.
