50% on tactics trainer

Well, since it gives you harder puzzles if you go above 50% and easier ones if you go below 50%, it's not possible to get much higher than 50% in the long term unless you can consistently solve the hardest puzzles in the database... nor is it possible to get much lower than 50% unless you can't get the easiest ones, or just don't try...

While you were working hard on getting over 50% on the tactics trainer here, the rest of us were over at chess tempo getting some real training done.

Just compare your ratings mschosting - you are in the right place. I don't like chesstempo that much either, its buggy for me. I like here, and I like CTS (emerald.chess) for tactics.

I used cts before I found chess.com their interface really sucks 
Percentage passed doesn't really matter. Your tactics rating is amazing, certainly when compared with mine(1382 highest
) . However, even I have 56% pass rate at the moment.

You can get a >50% success rate for your rating if you are particularly SLOW, then you get fewer points for each success. e.g. i have 54% success rate.

Iam on 50.3 now :) But my rating as been really low I got down to 2000 mostly because the trainer was buggy and now slowly Iam getting it back but it really sucks to be missing 2100 tactics that was finding so easy before... I guess I need a break

but Iam solving tactics so much worst than I was before, I really hate that when we reach a certain level at chess we don't keep it! Its always back and forth grrr
well, I think the back and forth you see is more a reflection of the rating system and chance. Not many people are currently rated the highest they've ever been!

I completly disagree: I would say a high pass rate is more important that the rating!*
simply because, in real OTB chess you will be punnished for any and all tactical inaccuracy...making sacrifices becuase they "look right" works great for puzzles (because we know that there is a solution it is reasonable to presume that moves that look right probably are right. {More often than not this presumption proves to be correct}) it does not fare too well OTB (because in many positions tactical shots simply do not exist)

Well, you also don't get an infitite amount of time to solve OTB either, so your argument is more a statement of a preference. Problems will get harder such that one's %age mostly reflects whether you take more or less than on average than others at your rating.
As for the mate in 5 vs 4 thing, send a moderator an email with every problem like this. They do correct them, and truncate or delete problems. They're amazing that way.
After years working on the tactic trainer and over 5000 atempts I finally made it to 50% pass rate
still 2641 vs 2646 but it gives 50% on average good enough!
Still want to raise my average to 75% but its not easy at all
anyway Iam proud on the 50%
