A_Wizard, I would certainly recommend mixing checkmate tactics with other tactics. In conjunction with the first 400 exercises in Polgar, these might be useful: https://www.amazon.com/Essential-Tactics-Building-Foundation-Chess-ebook/dp/B06XKG1VZD or if you prefer print books: https://www.amazon.com/Beginning-Chess-Elementary-Problems-Players/dp/0671795015

Could somebody look at mate in two #3130? The solution says b4 but that is clearly stalemate...right? Also..Is there a solution? I can't figure it out for the life of me.

The black king can't move, but the black pawn can.

Dang, a modern tactical arms race. Which one will be able to read it more times before November?

Is it just my book or does this book have incomplete solutions for the mate in 2 problems, the solutions just have the first move??? when it's a mate in 2?

It's not just your book. I guess that section should have been titled "Hints and Solutions". wink.png

(At least a mate in 1 is easier to find than a mate in 2.)

Yeah exactly, that's why the book lost alot of respect in my eyes, I know it's a well known book but I don't know any other Chess books that doesn't give the full solution for each and every problem that it contains, that's just plain lazy and cheap.   Now granted if the first move is know, most of those mate in 2s, the solutions can be found but that's not the point.
