I'm three degrees separation in actual tournament play from defeating Magnus.
And two degrees separation from playing chess with Fischer and four degrees away from Morphy (but not strictly).
This is kind of amazing considering what a patzer I am, but true.

Just to be clear, I want to see the players!
Three degrees is pretty small. You must have beaten a player at least 2000 or 2100, right?
EDIT: Nvm. You must've beaten a GM or IM who beat a super GM who beat Magnus.
Or maybe there are some losses magnus had before he was very strong that makes this a little easier than I hoped.

Xman I beat many players over 2000 in my day and yes to your edit as well. And I'm not finished yet.
