Yea...quality over quantity.  15-30 minutes a day is fine.

Is it enough to spend 15-30 mins everyday for ( improvment ) ?

I guess this is how it happened; you started well, got some rating, but after an hour or so you started failing them. To recover your points you continued solving which led to even greater rating loss. In the following couple of hours you occasionally got some points, but quickly drop back, making even more desperate. After 6 hours, you finally realised it's better for you to stop, as you were on the verge of crying.

Because this is how it usually happens to me.

According to IM David Pruess more than 15 minutes in a day is a waste of time anyhow...

I have trouble staying awake for 5 minutes of tactics training...

I know how do you feel. When I was basic member, I did 3 TT/day and managed to hit 2800. Since last week (I became Diamond member) I did 40 in one day and fell to 2700. :)

Good to know someone besides myself feels the same way about studying tactics.

Stop at 3 hours, 59 minutes.

Just Stop! And walk away from the computer. 6 hours on the tactics trainer isn't study, it's addiction! And it can possibly make you a worse player, but it will never make you a better one.

First sentence is correct. Second is not. You're developing stamina in chess. It will get better later on.

I can do 5/6 hours straight without dropping my level too much. In fact it goes up and down all the time. Could also be very random.

Keep at it and don't worry about your rating. It's completely irrelevant.

Cancel your chess.com diamond membership and go back to being a nonpaying member. That way you are only premitted to solve three tactics trainer positions a day.

DrNyet

I think if you like it enough and have the stamina, working through it by continuing may be helpful. I say this based on a couple of non-chess experiences. I'd be leary of becoming sick of it though.

UnknownTroll

Everybody would be more impressed if your tactics rating was 2300+
