Is the black king allowed to attack the white horse at H4? This because the white pawn is not allowed to attack the king, cause the black rock on G8 is otherwise attacking the white king. I couldn't find the answer...and we were curious to find out
no the king cannot take the knight because that would be moving into check

No. A King can't move into Check. Check is when it is attacked by another piece regardless of attacks on that other piece.
It can be useful to consider which King would get captured first if Kings were allowed to ignore Check.

Those rooks are tiny compared to the other pieces. At first glance I thought they were misplaced pawns.
