As I've said in past threads, one potential complaint about the analysis board is that it's a bit too 'smart' for its own good, inasmuch as it can show players where a planned move is, in fact, illegal for whatever reason--which amounts to getting information from an outside source. I tend to let this go, because, since all players have the same tool at their disposal, fair is fair.
More recently, however, I've been frustrated by another aspect of the analysis board: I can't go back 2-3 moves from a given position and look at 'what if' scenarios from that point onward, since any move that contradicts what already happened in the game is also 'illegal' from the analysis board's point of view.
So my humble suggestion is that we could really use a 'dumber' (more flexible) analysis feature that simply allows the user to move pieces around and that's it. No validation whatsoever.
Additionally, to make this a really cool tool, it would be nice if the display of captured pieces (currently on the 'Details' tab) kept pace with the action on the analysis board itself, and didn't statically represent the real game in progress. As it stands, users have to keep track of material differences in their heads as they play through a hypothetical line.
Just my 2 cents' worth... Thanks! :-)
