A few problem with Chess.com's Trophies

I love the idea of trophies. I think they are great to send and receive. However, the range of trophies on offer are a tad dismal and some of them plain weird. I'm sure you know what I mean.

I feel it's time to revamp the trophies. Broaden the range. Maybe make it a challenge for the artistic chess.com community.

You have the one-off trophies: Christmas (x2), New year's, birthdays, Hannukah, Valentine's day, Weddings, Easter, etc. (May I suggest a Happy Holidays trophy for the secular amongst us.) These trophies are great, although you'll likely recieve them once per year. (Except maybe the Wedding wishes trophy).

You have the Food Trophies, which except for Tofu and Bananas are all pretty unhealthy - plus the Ice Cream Cone and Ice Cream Sandwich trophies are identical Ice cream cones. 

Then you have the pretty good trophies, albeit some repetitious ones. All sweet.

And finally the Oddball Trophies:

ermm....

Okay, not so bad... but do people really send this on a chess site?

Same applies for: Golf, Tennis, Baseball, Football, Soccer, Hockey, Bowling, and Basketball trophies.

How do I ''check out'' your new laptop or motorcycle? What if it isn't the same one in the pic? And why should I consider getting the same laptop as you?

 No!! I've been playing chess or watching IM chessexplained's videos on Youtube.

Why would you send this to someone to put in their trophy showcase... when it is entirely self-centered? Also well deserved is a hyphenated closed compound.

Well I just got a Kite Flying trophy from a disgruntled peruser who didn't appreciate my mocking of his other hobby, it seems. 

Trophies are great, except perhaps the 2012 one can be modified. Those Indian boys on here love the cricket one. Remember what happened to Anna Kournikova!

Don't forget a Tinkering Troll Trophy. (Sorry no clever mockup)

troll trophy! wow......i think chess.com should at least allow people to write their own message with the trophy, i mean if it's rude delete it! it's basically like a message that's rude then, and you can say specific things with a trophy. (i mean chess.com has an automated message that goes with a trophy, you can't change that message)

I've heard, (but keep it on the D.L.) that there are customized, virtualized trophies available for anyone who can "Kill a Threadtm".

Don't believe it for a second, it's a communist plot.

I awarded the "Have a Taco" trophy twice this week!

Yes I made all these trophies up. It took ten days on photoshop, but I feel it was worth it just to be able to create this forum topic.

I know that I am off topic. But I needed to vent some heat and some sadness... The Selecao broke my heart.... I hope we fix something quickly... My die-hard heart fan will not be able to take it often.....

Maybe I should be assistant to the art manager (assistant art manager?) for the chess.com trophy team?  There are so many pointless trophies that need to be sent and received.
