yup, not genius. how is a player rated at 1883 moving his king outside of pawn protection in the first 8 moves, if he wasn't forced to?

Sorry to break it to you, but it's pretty much impossible to have a genius game that finishes with mate on move 8. That can only happen because the opponent plays so poorly that nothing the other player does could justifiably be interepreted as genius.

Having said that though, great job on spotting the Bxf7 combo.

this is an interesting point. black's king has three moves. two of them drop the queen and one leads to checkmate. he decided to keep the queen and go for checkmate. in any case black is lost after 6. bf7+!!

 

I had seen a video of this trap just the earlier day on this trap. Guess I was lucky this one time!

Oh, don't see the he could lose his queen, howewer he made some mistakes before like  1...d6? and 5...a6??
