Hardcore is right. More proof of the gulf that seperates serious students of the game and the rest of us patzers. I have no doubt that someone following your program will improve by leaps and bounds; for most of us dilettantes though, it's just too much work. On another note, what happened to editing your articles? I thought you had a loyal cadre of assistants ready to polish your prose in return for game analysis? Please don't tell me this was the result of their efforts.

lol, no, I have a friend working on it, but I could not wait to publish it. I just finished to "translate it" (if you can say so) but I have to wait at night to have it corrected. Thanks for stoping by :)

One of the best investments you can make, if you want to become a tournament player, is chessbase and its databases. Im thinking in producing a video series about chessbase, I know many people have problems with it, and only many hours of practice can help you to master the software... or a video tutorial :) As well, I would like to investigate chess assistant from convekta, but this is only a project.
About the ending to begining analysis thing, is a matter of taste, I have done it myself, but I find infinitely easier doing it breaking down through the critical points, and then you can analyze the game the way you want it, in any order without loosing grasp.

lol, I will try. But you can start with the article from GMserper, over here in chess.com, I dont have the link, but I think the good advices there can be enhanced and... and... I hear somebody screaming HERESYYYY! ...so to avoid being lynched I will talk less and write more... :)

just a question: is it legal to make time notation on the score card and add strange symbols as suggested. My opponent may have to loan my scorecard if he misses a move. I might confuse him with all those symbols. what does fide say about that.

Good point.
I had never any problems with it, meanwhile you write separatedly the moves from the symbols... but remember, except the time, the idea is not to write in every move a different symbol, just the most important transitions.

Awesome article! I especially think that recording your thoughts during the game could be REALLY helpful... I may start video taping my games and verbally assessing. I really appreciate this Carlos.

It's been 45 years since I took an English class, so unfortunately I can't give you the reason "to" is wrong, nor am I well enough versed in Spanish to compare sentence structures. I just know that it is not the way a native speaker would phrase it. Wish I could help more but I'm out of my depth here.
So... opinions?
