A Messy Game; What Can I Work On?

So, I just played a rather messy club game OTB. I thought I was doing quite well, but the engines say I played raher shockingly. I know that engines can be rather punishing, but it is alarming to me that I have not succeeded in identifying good moves in a position with an incredible amount of time to use. Thoughts and analysis based on the attactched game would be much appreciated.

(Yes, I realise that 7.a3 was a blunder compared to 7. Qa4+, and that giving my h-pawn up for not very much wasn't a good plan... The first is a matter of tactical vision, and the second is a matter of misjudgement, both of which I am working on. happy.png )

Cheers Chess.com!

It would help if you did your own analysis first, and then post the game. That way others get an idea of your thought process.

Have you any idea how to do so on the new site? I will update my diagram as best I can...

When you paste the PGN, go into the "Moves" section (it should take you there automatically) select a move to comment on and right click, You should get options to comment, add notation (!!, !?, etc).
