Yes. There are cases where it can become a forced draw like reaching the Philidor Position in R+P vs R and in many B+P vs B where the B's travel on opposite colors.
But the endgame is the strongest part of my game and if I can go 1 Pawn up, I'm confident that's enough advantage to win. In the following game, I traded pieces to get a winning position in a N vs B endgame where I had an extra P even though some people claim a B is stronger than a N when there are P's all over the board. Yes, the 1 P advantage eventually became 2 P's, but the 2nd P was gained because my opponent had to worry about my extra P. Note how useless the B is in this game:
