Due to my current exasperation over this subject, and the fact that you have yet to offer anything more than a stubborn suggestion and a vague post trying to dissect other peoples' opinions, I refuse to insult this program by moving it to the forum for cheating.
A program that allows chess programs to teach you

Has this program been successful at improving anyone's tactics so far? I believe it has certainly helped mine.

Engines are not allowed on chess.com. Please read the instructions on the site. This should be relegated to the cheating forum.
Thanks!
guilty conscious pricks the mind

Don't worry about that one, lollolbuddha. This one really can't be used for cheating; it is simply too unweildy for such a purpose. That was discussed in the discussion above, and while I could repeat myself, I'm too lazy...

I have found this software to be very helpful. Great idea and thanks for sharing it. I am using it with several game collections related to openings I am studying.

I downloaded the 2.4 version and can't find a way to add games or positions hwat have you to the program to learn from could I get some help it would be much appreciated.

You must create a PGN file first -- a possible way to do this is to input your games into the Arena GUI, then save it as a PGN. After that, go to "Settings -- Profile -- Edit -- ADD". It's slightly complicated, but not impossible. Hope that helps!

how do you input games onto arena ? (sorry for all the questions until now I just used this stuff for playing against engines and engine tournaments but I'm getting serious about getting the most out of them).

It's fine! I don't mind helping.
To put in games for Arena, open it, then follow this list of commands:
1. If you don't have the PGN file copied onto your clipboard, click the "Edit" button, and manually input the moves of the game/position until you are finished. If it is a tactical position instead of a full game, type "Control-B" first to set up the initial position.
2. Press F8 to edit the game data -- this is optional.
3. Press F2 to save the file.
If you do have the PGN copied, then press Shift-F6 to paste it onto Arena. Then press F2 to save.
That's all assuming you have Windows, like I do. If you don't, I'm clueless.
Engines are allowed anyway. If someone made a thread telling you to download Chessmaster, none of the admins will remove the thread for promoting cheating. It's only when you use it to analyse specific moves in your current games that it becomes cheating.
