Simple, but good
A Puzzle for Club Level - Can you find the forced mate?
Hmm, can't find a mate in 2, Qe1+ looks interesting, but if the knight blocks there's no mate.
Wait, I better check the poster's rating, it might be one of those beginners who posts a puzzle with no forced mate. Hmm, his rating is 1600, that's good, I guess there is a mate.
Still don't see it.
Let me check the comments. Oh, a 1500 guy says it's a good puzzle, I guess I'm still missing something.
Still don't see it.
Guess I'll check the solution... oh, and I'll check with an engine...
Waste of time.

If the knight blocks there is a mate in 9:
23...Qxe2 24.Qc2 Qxc2 25.Ne3 Qc1+ 26.Nf1 Qxb2 27.Ne3 Bh6 28.Be5+ Nxe5 29.Nc2 Qxc2 30.Kf1 Bg2+ 31.Kg1 Nf3#
But you shouldn't look for this mate. You should look for a mate in 2.
It seems to me that you don't understand the idea of a chess puzzle. A Chess puzzle, by its definition, is a problem taken from an actual played game. In the above game, my opponent didn't play the best move (Nf1). Instead my opponent played Bf1. You can't expect a 1600 player to play the best move in the position...
So, if you can't find a mate in 2, then you're probably a beginner. This puzzle is not for you then

A puzzle should base itself on the best move. This isn't mate in 2 that's it. But in the original post you said it so I guess you could get away with it but saying a 1600 shouldn't be able to block mate in one .... Not seeing an unforced mate in 2 doesn't mean you're a beginner

No, a puzzle that is taken from an actual played game can't base itself on the best move, because in most cases, chess players don't play the best moves in real games.
There is a difference between a chess problem and a chess puzzle. In a chess problem, the opponent plays the best moves. In a chess puzzle, they don't.
"Not seeing an unforced mate in 2 doesn't mean you're a beginner" - Well, Qe1 is the only logical move in this position (even if there is no mate after Qe1, white can still win the black knight). If someone can't find Qe1, he/she is not a good player either.
For a puzzle entitled mate in 2 Qe1+ isn't correct and not seeing it doesn't mean you are a beginner. Also a puzzle based on a game shouldn't have to follow the best move but with the best move the aim set should be attainable
Hello guys,
Today I'm sharing with you my weekly puzzle.
I've chosen to share with you a lovely checkmate, taken from my game with a club player,
Take a look at the following position, and find a way to checkmate the White player in 2 moves.
Note that computer says "mate in 9" it this position. However, it is likely that many club players would play like my opponent did in this game, and would get checkmated in 2 moves.
Can you find the 2-move checkmate?
And in case you want to see the complete game:
Good Luck!
