I don't have SCID vs PC on the computer I'm on but it should be via the Play menu item. For SCID, it is Play -> Serious Game. In that dialog you can choose to play from the Current position.

Yeah, Once you have the game loaded and you've forwarded to the last move, choose "Play --> Computer - UCI Engine", and you'll see a tick box for "Start from current position".

Suppose you have clicked through a game in your database and you find one of the players has resigned. Now you want to take the side of the winning player and play against the computer with the computer taking the position of the resigned player. How do you do this?
