So if you read the leagues rules you only get points if you win a game, more if the game is in a slower time control(rapid, blitz, bullet). You also gain some points for a draw but you gain none and won't lose any if you lose. This system doesn't change and so you will continue to only be rewarded when you win or draw a game, even when you reach the legend league. My guess is that you have played many games and since 50% of the games are wins you are still rewarded very well, explaining your high ranking.
A question or two about leagues

I quit leagues, and here is why.
CHESS.COM SAYS LEAGUES HAVE NO IMPACT IN MATCHMAKING.
And I say that is INCORRECT.
League varies, according to chess.com, on how MUCH you play.
Are you telling me the "time spent" variable does not matter how hard a player tries to win?
or the effort he puts into each game?
I have deactivated leagues and games seem to be more varied.
I am not always PLAYING AGAINST A DUDE WHO PLAYS 10+ GAMES a DAY LIKE ME

You are right.
Hi, I joined about 4 weeks ago and have only been playing chess for 4 weeks. I win and lose almost equally & don't think I'm a particularly remarkable individual, and yet I've transcended from Wood League all the way to Silver League in just those few weeks and am already #2 in Silver League.
I guess my question is, what league designation do I begin actually being ranked according to how much I win and lose vs. how much I play? I'm on here every day
