Whenever I find that my apponents are rude, I remind myself that half of them are only 1/3 my age lol :oP then i humbly get over it!
A thought on manners

Although I am a player who tends to resign whenever I feel I am really worse I do not agree with you. I do not think people playing out a K vs K+Q endgame are doing anything wrong. They might want to learn by watching how you finish them off or they do not know enough to be aware they will lose. Do you think I am wrong if I believe that many of us would not really win B+N+K vs K or B+B+K vs K? Plus I have met people here who believed N+N+K vs K is a won position and someone told off my nephew for he refused to resign as black in a position similar to this one
Good point. The person with superior material could make the mistake of thinking that he has a won game instead of a dead draw, which you have illustrated.
It all depends of course. B+B+K is not a standard endgame in low elo. Q+K or R+K is. These are also the FIRST end games a majority of players learn because of that fact.
As to the puzzle you posted there, I would never expect my opponent to resign because that is a position where achieving checkmate there is actually quite tricky.
I get it, people don't find this to be rude. That's cool, I'll continue to give my opponents the benefit of the doubt and I'll continue to not receive the same benefit from my opponents.
Continue on if you must, my soap box is going in the closet, I'm resigning (heh) the post of trying to up the etiquette of an online chess site...

I just wanted to point out that whatever may seem obvious to you does not have to be that obvious to a worse player. Your comment on the position is either very misleading or demonstrates my point.
The position is an easy draw for black and if I played you as black I would offer a draw. If you wanted to play on thinking "it is tricky to checkmate" I would not blame you for not knowing something. NM Reb would maybe call you an idiot (see his comment above).
If I understood you well you would not think you are rude when playing a drawn position, would you? It is not about you thinking I do not know where I have to move my king to draw the game, it is just you unaware of something many people would consider as elemental as K+Q vs K. Rest assured that stuff elemetal to IMs, FMs and GMs is far beyond my (and maybe also your) understanding.

Sorry, saw the King and Pawn flipped in my mind. Yes, I consider not accepting draw there in the same boat.
"easy" and "obvious" is exactly my point. I do not assume my opponent is incompetant. I assume the best in people. Therefore I assume they know that Q+K is an easy checkmate pattern. Thereforetherefore when they don't resign I get upset because in by my assumption they are not incompetant, thereforethereforetherefore the only reason they don't resign is because they assume I am.

This seems to be a common theme in many perceptions of rudeness, etc. Benny Hill says, "Never assume. It makes an ASS out of U and ME." You really cannot infer anything meaningful from the fact that a person does not resign or accept a draw when you think he should, beyond the logical inference that your opponent thinks that he still has a chance to win or draw as the case may be.

I think it depends on the circumstances. In one of my early OTB tournaments someone rated close to me decided to liquidate a losing position into a K+B+N vs K ending because I was short on time. The only rude thing about this was the satisfied smirk on his face ... which disappeared about 30 moves later when he realized I had him.
hilarious
Truth be told, more often than not, it pays to be disrespectful to your opponent.
No body gets paid to be a good citizen; but if you mug an old lady, you might come off with some easy money.

Is this a life strategy for you?
But instead all he seems to know is skullduggery.
As long as he stays away from buggery, it will probably be OK.
Yeah, I was waiting for somebody to use that one...
Why wait and let someone else get all the good ones?
So some little old lady lost her social security check for him to have a diamond next to his name?
YEs.
Now please tell us the story behind your platinum crown.
