Currently it's possible to lose that way if your disconnected for too long, even if it's not your turn. My understanding is that will be changed in an update at some point.
There’s also a bug where pre move actually moves before you confirm move.
I have pre move and confirm each move activated because I like to visually analyse possible moves and this bug had costed me a lot of ratings

Confirm isn't really designed to work with premoves and confirm pretty much removes any benefits of premoves.
