Abandon vs Resign

Chess.com needs to explore ways to control menace of players' behaviour who abandon their games. Such players should be encouraged to resign which is much more elegant, and professional. Any thoughts?

If you abandon too many games in a short period of time, you temporarily lose the right to abandon any game without penalty; they'll be counted as resignations (i.e. losses) instead until you end a certain number of games "properly."

I assume you're referring to stallers and ragequitters, though. It would sure be great to have a more reliable method to deal with them.

Agreed. I’m getting tired of these abandoners. I guess they derive some sad satisfaction from forcing the winner to sit there and wait for the clock to run out. They never learned integrity or character, or even basic sportsmanship, so I’m not sure that chess.com can change who they are, but the site can certainly hammer them for these “tactics.”
