Why do people abandon? I still gain elo and they still lose it. There just being sore losers and if you look at their accounts, if they do it once, most games they lose are through abandoning. If you abandon and are reading this, take a look at what type of person you are..
Abandoning is a coping mechanism to avoid the psychological discomfort of seeing a loss on their record.
But chessmasteryofficial, the loss still shows on their record
#3, I wouldn't count something beyond your control as abandonment.

They're salty. They want to waste your time. Some even make sure they don't auto abandon too early and revisit the site/app every now and then to keep their clock running.
