I think if your aborted by time out, as in you don't make your first move fast enough, that counts as a possible violation, but if you intentionally hit the abort game button I don't think it counts, just conjecture though

I have had a few players "abort" games against me. The chat box sometimes has a message right afterwards saying that a "player may have violated blah blah blah and have their account restricted". However, this doesn't always happen. Can anyone explain why it happens sometimes and not others? What is the abort button for if not to be used? Thanks
