Yeah, that's been happening to me since I started using this website, even back in 2022. It doesn't affect me that much, but I do agree that it's a bit scary thinking you have just blundered a piece or something. I always draw in a quick breath when I think I play checkmate, but it doesn't show up right away.

...Has the pause between playing checkmate and the website announcing the checkmate become uncomfortably long?
This has been going on for a few days now: I'll play the move, knowing the game is officially over, and then there will be a nearly one second pause before the sound effect plays. Even though I know I just won, it still manages to make me panic a bit until it's finally acknowledged.
