About correspondence chess

Correspondence chess is atracting my attention because it gives you the oportunity to make full analisis of the game you are playing and i think that would be good to improve my game but what stops players from using engine asisstance during the games?

what stops players using it during 15 minute or 30 minute games? the cheat screening, and peoples own conscience is the answer i guess.

It has been easily demonstrated that an engine can be used even in 1 minute chess at a strength of over 2000+.

So worrying about engine use in correspondence chess but not any other form of online chess doesn't make too much sense.

It's because i want to actually play chess myself. To let an engine do all the work, makes me think why did i start playing chess in the first place?

A chess players code of honour which he or she places high above winning and the players conscience of what's right if you didn't with your own efforts how can you feel good about that? it's pretty cheap and sleazy.

When you give your word to a postal chess organization and your opponents you'll play fair and not use Houdini it means something a players integrity in this game means everything.

ok i got it. ill stop worrying of chess engines and do my best in the games i play to become a stronger player. Thank you all for your comments.

Also if you sole current goal right now is to get stronger then it won't matter much if a person is using an engine or not as you will learn from the game and get better.

Sure using engines on a site like this is pretty sad and pathetic, but at the same time I think people worry about it far too much. Internet rank doesn't mean much, eventually the cheater will get booted, and those who faced him will likely end up stronger than before.
