That was a very good point. Although others could put it out as a mere tactic, that is to destruct the opponent but why should he not rather resort to some other tactics.
Abuse in chat

Why will Chess.com not ban such players?
Because you have no proof. It's your word against his.

I agree. Chess.com needs to change! I would like them to do a complete over haul of the whold damn chat. To be forced to put up with trolls is unacceptable i say!

When it happens to me I copy it into windows. Then, if challenged I will be able to shove it in their arrogant face.

dude, why go throgh so much trubble just to troll them like that? kinda seems like a waste of time

Another time killing tactic I've seen is when an opponent in a losing position relentlessly requests a draw trying to eat up my time and win on time alone.

Screen shots work better, as does reporting it to Support via https://support.chess.com/customer/portal/emails/new; Chess.com will take action, but reporting from the community is very helpful in that regard.
I played in a 3m + 0 tournament yesterday, 28th February, on the site. One of the players kept up a constant stream of abuse ("hahahahahahah - what a noob" - etc) obviously designed to distract. I checkmated him, so it didn't work on me but I want to make two points:
1) I do not see why I have to put up with that sort of stuff. Chess.com state we should disable chat in such circumstances but chess is a social game, and I like to at least say "gg" at the end, if it was enjoyable. Why should I cut off contact with people just to avoid the odd player like this one?
2) The tactic is designed to put people off, and distract. Quite a few of his wins in the tournament were on time - I have no doubt that he uses this tactic a lot, and I am sure it works to his advantage.
