Accuracy Rating

To begin this thread I’d like to make note that I understand the “accuracy” feature is not something set in stone, however it does offer some insight.

My question then is, why would the accuracy rating change between analyzing a game I played last night and going back to the game report again today?

Last night I played a game in which the computer rated I played at 92% accuracy. Today I went back to look at the game report and it dropped that rating to 86%. What causes this? I wouldn’t be so puzzled if it were within a percentage or so, but 6% points would seemingly imply there were more mistakes than previously determined.

Again, I understand this is not a set in stone piece of information, yet I’m still curious.

Is it possible you were looking at two different games?

@notmtwain no.. I checked my game against Georgefeeney about 4 times... every time after the first the rating was in the 80s... @llama45 I hadn’t changed line depth or anything

Sometimes this happens to me over a few accuracy points too. It is because the engine depth is given slightly longer or shorter to run (or at a deeper depth than before). The "accuracy" (CAPS) is your move evaluation compared to the engine recommendation; however, the engine may recommend something slightly differently if the lines are close in evaluation.

IM @DanielRensch explains it better than I could type out, so I'll just leave it to him grin.png
