Lots of them will be facebook people just playing a social game. Calling them chess players is a bit of a loose discription
Let's chew on some of those numbers:
/ 1.9 million forum posts and comments. How many of those were double posts?
// With 425 million divided by 11 million= 37, it appears that they are using the word "daily" in their unique definition of the word-- "daily" meaning corrspondence style chess (games that allow 24 hours or more per move), as opposed to the normal definition of "daily" as something that happens every day.
/// 3,082,460 new signups give an average of 8,445 new players every day. It would seem prudent to rewrite the Help section or make it more prominent. How about running an automated Google search of the site when someone is about to post a forum question to see if that question has been asked previously?
