Chessbase and ChessAssistant allow you to perform all different kinds of searches, eg. by result, rating, opening, position, material, player name, specific maneuvers, etc. SCID is a free database that may be able to do something like that.

Does anybody know of a chess database that allows not just searching for some specific position, but to search by more interesting criteria? For example, I want to find games that had more than 3 queens on the board, or games with quadrupled pawns (dunno
)
