For the past several weeks, I have neglected to play live chess because I'm anxious that I might win the game and gain ELO, ruining my chances to lose against lower rated players. I am having trouble getting over this and I know I can't become worse without playing worse people. Does anyone have any suggestions for how to get over this?
Afraid to lose Elo

Today I lost 20 rating points and likely if I continued playing I could have lost 100. If you start going on a tilt you should always stop and take a break, and you will probably easilly gain the points back.

I find what works best for me is to try and find the most fun way to play. I stopped worrying over elo and started taking a few risks to make the game more interesting. Funnily enough, once I stopped caring so much about elo, I started gaining more. I'm sure there's some weird psychology thing about this, and I can't guarantee it'll work for you, but it works for me.

Thanks for the e-mail notifications on a 2 year old thread idiots
Haha, true. However please refrain from using profanity to describe individuals whom you most likely have never met. Also, don't throw bricks in glass houses, it typically shatters the walls of illusion and self-delusion.
I'm scared that my mom will take away my computer and permission to go to red knight chess club if i dont get 100 elo in 6 days bruh
