(After learning the rules) The first thing a beginner should learn is...

I remember back when I learned the game from my Uncle, he taught me how the pieces move and the next thing I believe was a rook roll and the concept of checkmating with major pieces. So that was kind of good to know as otherwise I'd never be able to win a game. So I do think checkmating is important but only the most basic stuff, you need to learn about quite a bit of stuff, but each category needs to be dealt with at a requisite level. So we don't want to be teaching too much about checkmate here before we give them some tactical tools or explain some of the basic concepts of strategy, and then as one's overall knowledge grows one can learn more and more advanced skills.

Wow. Lol. Where did you get "Nimzovich" from? Your patzerian interior just got out from the closet or wut?

After learning the rules the most important thing for a beginner to learn is not to play with yourself--chess I mean, not the other thing.

Joseph Henry Blackburne (The Black Death) was a good one for delivering checkmates. He didn't care what crude things he was doing to his position, he was just going to checkmate you.
Thank you, urk. I have just ordered Reinfeld's 1001 Combinations, and a Reinfeld book called, "How to Force Checkmate." Now just give me a year or two, and we'll see what happens...

A year or Two? Lol. You should read those 2 books in 4-5 months at WORST.
Unless you have a life ofc.

Ha ha! Well, there's the reading, and then there's the sinking in of the info, and then there's the actually-seeing-it-come-out-in-my-playing. I am no spring chicken, so these things take time!
Having said that, I would love to see my playing go up noticeably in just 4-5 months. I only started trying to learn the game about a year ago, and it has been s-l-o-w going, let me tell you.

Actually, you, BronsteinPawn, are trolling. I've seen the forum "I'm really mad at Aronian right now" and I know how you are using that forum completely to debate with macer75 and kaynight.

I told him already his trolling skillz are weak.

Kaynight没有在那个帖子里发言。他只是和我辩论,并且辩论得不怎么样。

No. There is only one and it is "Nimzowitsch".
I dont know who you are talking to when you say Nimzovitch.

I also learned the game about a year ago lol and my rating in blitz went from 900~ to almost about 1900~ (or at least it was like that until I decided it was a good idea to play 40 blitz games in a day and inflict myself brain damage lol).
However Im young and Im missing out of life.
I would suggest you to get the hell out of here before you become addicted.

I told him already his trolling skillz are weak.
Yeah. I dont why I always get kind of triggered by your non-sense, even if I try hard I still seem to get at least 10% triggered.
Good job bud.
And my trolling skills are not weak. In fact I am not a mainstream troll, In fact I think I should stop talking about myself as a troll but as something else.
Suggestions are welcomed, even if they come in the form of bullying.
Yes. And Joseph Henry Blackburne also was bad when it came to positional chess or how not to get mated.
