Akiva Chess - Armaggedon

Hi all, I want to share with you an idea I just had about Armageddon, how it could apply in Classical chess, and why large and long chess tournaments like the World Cup don't need to have two games a match.

So this is my idea (I call it Akiva chess): White has a defined time control, say 100/40+50/20+15. So in every match (like the World Cup, Candidates, etc.) instead of playing two games you only play one. Before the game, the players flip a coin, and the winner (or just the higher rated player if you want) chooses whether he wants to decide Black's time or a color.

Example to explain: Let's take Shaun Press - Ding Liren, from the 2019 World Cup. They do a drawing of lots, and the winner - say Ding - chooses a time control from black, say 90/40+40/20+10. Then Press chooses what color he wants. Of course black wins in a draw.
Ding could also choose to let Press decide the time control, and then choose a color.

Thanks for reading, and I hope Akiva Chess gets into use!
