Do not be scared! Nothing was deadly wrong, so far... Go ahead!

Are you know, that Alechin was a Prisoner at the Germans Camp at the World War 1, as well as a World War 11 ??

Are you know, that Alechin worked shortly and succesfully, as a Crime Inspector for Soviets!

Are you know, that when he was  a Schoolboy, and Teacher asked him something, he stand up and asked the Teacher to repeat the Question, before  own good Answer!

Or he just told the Teacher, that he will make a move, and another move, and win the chess game! All class were laughed, and Teacher was smiled, as well...

Alechin's young years were devoted to Chess Correspondent Games!

He draw a lot of Chess diagrams, and he and his brother cut the Chess articles from newspapers...

Well, Alechine was a bit of a political opportunist. That doesn't stop him from being a great chess player.

Alechin was very  educated independent minded person, with some fantastic abilities!

As a tactical player I can put him at the level of the Michail Chigorin, David Bronshtein, Rashid Negmetdinov,  Garry Kasparov...

LoneWolfEburg
Does anyone doubt that?
AWARDCHESS
Yes! They tried nullify him... Because, they do not like and understand him and his Chess, and a Chess, as well...

The envious chess politicians knew they could never defeat Alexander Alekhine. Just see, when the Soviet chess machine claimed for Alekhine his rightful place in chess history, how Alekhine's legacy took the Russian chess masters to world championship.

The Soviet Chess Machine was much better than, their Agriculture machines!

The School, Factory, Unions paid me to play Chess for them! To be Chess Coach, Captain..

mandelshtam

yes, and this is the reason for the strength of russian and soviert chess, since it was accesible to everyone.

It is also not rue that the soviet fedaration is guilty of taking away rights (to play, and to get invitations, and to keep the title) of aliechin, as one of the last threads indirectly implied.

The contrary is true. The soviet federation tried to get good relations to  him (of course, since he was a Russian - is that bad ? - , and of course, since some were hoping he might become a Soviet citizen...)

I also have to  defend the story about the blindfold match against the Wehrmacht team. It IS true!

(Somebody here indirectly claimed it's a tale!).

I mentioned the story in particular, to suggest that he was NOT ideologically blind, or a Nazi.

If he did something which has to be critizised, he did it out of opportunism, to get invitations, money from chess articles....

(Not a good excuse, thoug

Just my opinion, but I think the chess politicians hated and feared Alekhine because he was Russian, creating black propaganda against him to isolate him from his own country that he loved and to which he longed to return. Look at Wikipedia page on "World Chess Championship" where there is list of "leading chess masters before 1886" -- where is Petrov, Urusov, Jaenisch, Chigorin? That was the chess lineage that produced an Alekhine whose genius inspired a dynasty of chess world champions. If you lower your head, put your ear to your chessboard, and listen...you can hear Alexander Alekhine laughing!

When Alechin was young, he spent a few years at the Correspondent Chess Games, as well as Keres did, later...

I played it also, and I hold 1 degree at the Russia /as well as 1 degree at the Active Chess/, and I am Chess Correspondent Candidate Master  at USA.

I recommend it, as a good training for all Chess Players!
