fischer would win, due to stamina and metabolism i believe :)
All Yime Great
I think it would have been very close, but I also think that in the end that it would have Fischer who prevailed. His style was so unlike anything that the Russians (or anyone else) had ever been up against, that I think he would have come up with the winning combination to beat Kasparov. Whether that combination was psychological, tactical, strategic or stamina and anything in between, I think Fischer would have come up with it in his prime that is.

I'm new to this site and it is possible the subject has already been discussed but I will ask :- Fischer v Kasparov in their prime. What would be the outcome.
I remember the Fischer / Spassky world championship 1972 and being absolutely blown away by Fischer's play and personality. He certainly woke up the chess world. What a wonderful time for chess, he introduced the game to millions of youngsters.
I was 29 at the time and had been "playing" for about 12 years but not understanding openings etc. I had just graduated from Draughts (Checkers). He brought me and millions more into the real world.
I am forever endebted to B Fischer.
Thoughts please.
Title should read "All Time Great" sorry slip of the right finger.
