I ran a complete 24 hour session letting SF analyse the position with 1. e4 on-board. Results reveal that SF thinks the 1. ...e6 is the best response. In all of AZ's games against SF with the black pieces against 1. e4, 1. ...e5 was played. I suppose the idea of rejecting 1.c5 is that the dynamic positions arise out of the Open Sicilian favour white in terms of tempi, ie. white is simple faster to utilize the essence of the position as compared to black. If AZ were to play the Open Sicilian against SF as white then we can see what ideas AZ finds that human players fail to see. About 1. ...e6, I suppose it's because it's inferior to 1. ...e5 in terms of flexibility.
