Wow! A real prodigy! Hi! Do they just give you money when you're a prodigy or do you have to do something prodigious first?

If you have to ask, then the answer (also from your stats) is: No way, Jose.

AyoDub

Yes

Judging from your games, my answer is very simple: Absolutely not.  If you can manage to get into the top 100 in a couple years (since you only started a couple months ago), then we can discuss the "prodigy" status.

Drybasin speak with sandy tongue. Smile 1200 is average, so if it took you three months to get to average... No.

Elvisandro

short answer: no

long answer: lolno

Bah! A prodigy would get to 1200, blindfolded and hog tied, within the very first day. Hell, he would even play black and spot a rook on his very first game.

Money has nothing to do with accomplishment. Most people don't have the free time to make money. They are too busy working.

Prodigy? A rating of 1248 in live standard? Had you started playing three months ago, and were now playing at the 2200 level (or more), prodigy might actually cross one's lips, but then you would have no reason to pose the question since such would be assumed. A good many players win without study. That proves nothing except they're lazy -- like me.

Zack, it was her gin talking.  You're making great progress.  Sounds like you're having fun.  Keep it up!

Maybe I'm a gin medium? That means I have special powers just like a prodigy!

Sorry...you are not so good yet, rather naive about ratings

ZackBlack23

hmm..well thanks for the feedback everyone, albeit they mostly negative. But I still believe that I am a prodigy and will one day join the ranks of bobby fischer and magnus carlson.. thank you all, and you heard it here first :)

Gonna hold yah to that

I recall an older thread by you asking how long it takes to get good

And you mentioned that you were studying

Now you say you didn't study

Easy way to get recognised as a prodigy is to be a regular first pager

Very recently they boosted everyone's standard rating by around 200. So actually, you did not improve at all.
