Hi Bernie, I think you analysed both games well
Am I looking at this right?
First one was perfect on the second one (I would have done the same) is was good you had the right idea breaking down the king's protection and deliver the mate. There is a mate in 8 I'll let you work it out.
Doesn't 6...Qd6 eliminate the rook coming to e7 without having to give up the knight as well? It'll leave Black with a difficult R+N+N vs Q+3KP, but it's a lot better than what's shown in option 2.
A mate in 8? From the 2nd diagram I don't see a defense that lasts that long after 1.Qh5 (threatening Bxh7 Bg6 Qh7) The e5 knight is redundant, after Qh5 f7 is covered and the knight only gets in the way of mate as it blocks the e1 rook.
If h6 Qxh6 -- if g6 then Rxg6 -- if Nxe5 then it doesn't stop the threat which was Bxh7 Bh6 Qh7. Rf6 seems to last another 4 moves after 2.Qh7 3.Ng6 4.Bxg6 with mate to follow, but I don't see anything that lasts more than 4-5 moves.
ah-ha what about Rf5 ? hmm
Hmm, maybe I threw out Rf5 too quickly, it does seem to last longer. I'm still missing the best defense I guess, can last 6 moves...
I'm impatient when it comes to best lines like these
playing against my computer I see black can last longer. Maybe not the best practical chances, but certainly the longest defense heh. I'm just not programed to find moves like this.
You are rating 1900+ master Jedi ? have patient my friend. Relax your mind let force come to you. Going to bed soon.

the real threat behind Qh5 is Qxh7#
Qh5 is the best move in this position.
1.Qh5 a4?? 2.Qxh7#
Qh5 leads to mate quicker than Bxh7+ and without sacrificing a piece but the piece sacrifice is also easily winning and so is Qg4 , white has an overwhelming position and can win in several ways.......

Heh, you're right, the threat is a mate in 1
the three move pattern is what made the Qh5 move pop out that's were I was coming from, I honestly didn't see the mate in 1 till I read what you said... weird huh?
Reb is right, white has 4 pieces attacking to black's 1-2 defenders, there should be multiple ways to win.

I am really trying to take my time and really look at positions. I found this pudiagram in Sierawan's Play Winning Chess, he what was the most beneficial move for white was. In order to main superiority on the kingside, his answer was Qh5, which I agree with kinda of. So I started looking for a better move or series of them. Here is what I came up with, please feel free with comments. Thanks in advance for them.
My second look at it produced results I wasn't as confident in.
Please let me know how I analyzed both situations please.
