Americans do not give rematch

As I said before. Again after 2 years this:

I've said it in the past, after some reactions I thought maybe it was just me. But again after numerous new games I'm 100% sure, from all the nations on earth, americans(although a nation that I admire) because somekind of unknown reason, always run off the tables after a game. No matter win or lose, they always run. Don't know what's the reason, such a great nation, but in chess I guess they are just cowards...

I enjoy playing with many different people. Unless it was a close match or blundered hard, I don’t usually rematch. Not sure it’s just an American thing though.

You see? This is what I don’t like about chess. It’s people who think of chess as a macho show of strength rather than a game do be enjoyed. Cowardice is a fear of losing, but I don’t care about losing, I just play for fun. Clearly you think it’s about a display of superiority, and I’m sorry, I’m not going to indulge you.

There are lots of reasons people don’t want a rematch. My main one is that I don’t feel like playing anymore. Sometimes I just gotta pee. Sometimes I don’t like your style of play.

Worse yet, I absolutely will not play a rematch if you 1. offer draws in lost positions, or 2. refuse to resign in a dead lost position.

You can’t make me rematch against you, and if it makes you angry, good! I’ll just laugh.

Aren't you brave enough to face a different player?

Wildly broad irrational, unfounded generalizations are always the way to go!

Always good to see ignorance alive and well.

@bacon I don’t know. He may be right. Maybe vengeance and blood feuds are less an American thing.

Frankly, if I thought about it a really really long time, I might find something I care about less than ensuring some dude has a chance to salvage his honor.

Things that might possibly be of less importance than salvaging someones online chess honor:

Things that are more important that salvaging someones online chess honor:

Cleaning out the vegetable bins in my fridge.

Vacuuming.

Stubbing my toe.

Clipping my toe nails.

Just to name a few...

Sounds like something Yogi Berra would have said.

I was going to go with I care less about what brand of soap Kim Kardashian uses to wash her panties... but no, I think I care more about that too.

I totally agree with Post #3. I dont give rematch because many people take it personal.  Ive seen many situations

1. they win first game, ask for rematch , you accept and then they cancel the game.

2. they win , and leave  after leaving a message , usually making fun of u.

So i just play one game with each one, toavoid this situations..

the end.

Very wise . I do precisely the same !

We gave Germany a rematch.

Actually Germany started another game against some lower rated opponents.  We came in and won the game.

Woollysock
Um 😐......is Germany a new member ! 🤷‍♂️
Woollysock
Btw not all those opponents were lower rated

Allow me to rephrase that for you.....

" I wish to announce to all chess.com forum readers that because I have an irrational dislike of Americans I will make a post calling all of them cowards"

I suggest you study your history of the 20th century. Hundreds of thousands of Americans died saving your country from Nazi/dictatorship rule. Your respect for them is sorely lacking.

and you are blocked
