This guy Bazeev, he got 6.5 points in the rapid wc, the same as Aronian and Vitiugov for example. He is not a GM, nor an IM, nor a FM, nor even a CM. The proof that any patzer can dream with being wc?

In rapid and blitz open tournament, a non titled very strong player can possibly win the tournament. In standard time control, it's next to impossible unless he cheats.

“Next to impossible”… So you’re saying...I’ve got a chance? ;-)

Try your luck in the open. You'll find the answer.

I´ve noticed here and on other sites there are untitled players above 2800 in blitz. Asuming they are not cheaters nor GM in disguise, that is almost GM strenght, isn´t it?

I'll tell an anecdote about a Philippines IM. He participated in the Moscow Chess Olympics. He tried blitz in a park with non chess pros. He couldn't believe he lost.

You make it sound like Aronian won, but Aronian scored 7.5 out of 15 and is listed at #103 on a list of 150 players.

Bazeev scored 8.5 by the way.

Dubov won clear first with 11/15 , half a point ahead of Carlsen, Naka, Mame, and Artemiev

German Bazeev's current rapid rating is 2418. So he is most definitely not an amateur, even though he doesn't have any title. His performance rating was 2719 at the rapid championship, when he managed to beat players like Shaposhnikov, Smirin, Dreev and drew players like Svidler, Matlakov and Esipenko, just to name a few.
