Analysis depth

Hi

When I play chess I often try to improve my game by analyzing the moves afterwards. Often when the computer sees a "blunder" or "missed opportunity" it's by looking 10+ moves ahead. At my current level this is like telling me that I could jump higher if I lived on the moon... There is just no way I can foresee the game 10 moves ahead.

Is there anyway to tell the computer to look fewer steps ahead?

The lowest possible depth is 14 ply, or 7 moves, in the Analysis settings.
