I am just wondering if the matches will be availiable for everyone to watch or just platinum and diamond members? can anyone help me please

maartenotten

Sonofpearl told me that for now the live coverage was availeble for everybody.

razorblade12

well then all i can say is thank you very much chess.com!

Nytik

Maartenotten is correct, the entire Anand - Topalov match will be available to all who play on chess.com!

(As are all other chess.com TV broadcasts, as far as I'm aware...)

It says on their premium membership page that the TV broadcasts are "limited" to gold and non-paying members

Nytik

Yes, but as far as I know, they have not yet broadcast any 'limited' programs. At least, I've never seen one which has been restricted.

cool :P

rooperi

Is there anywhere to follow the moves, not on TV. My PC and connection's just not up to that : (

Nytik

Rooperi:

I believe the official site will be uploading live moves (with commentary) in a non-video format.

Thanx a lot : )

Matteos

I was out during the game but would love to watch the chess.com TV live coverage now (i.e. not live). Does anyone know if that's possible? If so, where is the video please?

Matteos, go to www.chess.com/tv and in the lower left of the viewer next to "on-air" it says "on-demand." click on that, and it will show all chess tv programs in reverse chronological order. topalov-anand from this morning will be tops on that list.

as to restrictions on viewing chess tv:

-yes it is in our plans to at some point have some shows be platinum+diamond only

-yes, so far every program ever done has been open to all members.

-approximately, my plan is to eventually have 20 programs per week of which 15 open and 5 restricted; but that's not something you can hold me to, it's just my personal idea of what would be good. remains to be seen how it will work out.

-i was thinking this match might be a good chance to do 1 plat+diam only broadcast and see how it goes.

-the broadcasts are very expensive (bandwidth and broadcasters), so we need to get *some* support for them.

hope everyone enjoys the match! our coverage also includes news items by SonofPearl with analysis by GM Magesh.

any comments or suggestions, please drop me a message.

Thanks David but I'm not finding an "on-demand" button anywhere in the viewer. Just the "on-air", "full-screen" and power-on buttons. Any tips?

EDIT: Turns out it's my problem (well maybe?). The TV viewer doesn't display at all in Safari. It displays fine in Firefox - but weirdly the "on demand" button is missing. So I downloaded Google Chrome and the on-demand button is there. I don't know if it's your code or my Mac but v.weird.

Along those same lines, what are the chances of having one of our video authors do some analysis on these games in the nearish future?

My personal favorite videos so far are the live sessions and any of the ones with strict analysis of high-level games(IM Shankland's top 10 moves in particular), so this would be a very desirable thing for myself, and perhaps a lot of others?

Anand vs. Topalov? Man, this is gonna be EPIC! I'm really looking forward to it!
