Of course this would happen just after I lose a couple of games really badly and then am in the middle of actually winning a game :-)
Seriously though it's pretty shoddy, membership here isn't cheap so I'd expect better infrastructure to be in place.

I got a message saying they're upgrading the site! Why would anyone complain about that? Upgrades are good! Thanks chess.com!
It's not an upgrade, that's just a catch all (bulls**t) error message. They had the same message up yesterday when it crashed during the deathmatch - they wouldn't upgrade during a heavily advertised deathmatch which they are paying staff to commentate on.
Would also be pretty silly to upgrade at peak usage time, on a Sunday when their staff would probably need to be paid overtime. Better to upgrade during the week when people are working.
