Yesterday I threw away an old Samsung phone with what felt like a 2.5" screen, but I think it was 3.5", haha.
Still, useless.

Well I don't really know what's the problem with my android app, but I can only use it for playing, whenever I try to acces the webpage, forums, etc. it just doesn't want to fit on my screen (I'm using a Navon 5" screen smartphone); the icons are perfectly fine on the top in one line, so are the ads, but forum conversations and articles are a mess, pictures and diagrams fitting just fine, but the text goes all over the place and when I move the screen away, the diagrams get shifted and falls apart.
Is there anything I can do about it, or am I simply missing something and this part is simply not yet available on an android system?
give us please few screenshots.
As you can see, the text on the right side simply gets cut off, and I can't even zoom out to refresh the page. The article text seems fine, but the inserted pictures and diagrams are either too big to fit (and I can't zoom out to refresh it, make it somehow fit the screen), or start to glitch out, having buttons on them (picture 3 and 4); like the phone actually thinks it fits the screen having the buttons under it, but it just can't get it through.
Playing live and correspondence actually works well except a few piece glitch if I pass over 80-90 games, but accessing other features is a mess.
I'm using a Navon m500 (mizu) that uses the latest android system.

First of all, download NEW app(v3) , not v2. Your screenshots from v2.
V2 is no longer supported, and no changes there will be.
Second - Tournaments page is a webiew. It's not android app screens, it's like mini web browser in our application. We are working on Tournaments screens and api to present it as other normal screens in android app(v3), like forums, stats, articles, friends. But because it's huge, it takes a lot of time. Sorry for that. I guess it's better with new version of android app because you can rotate it to landscape and see page's content better.
Also latest android system is Android 5.0(Lollipop), but on your screenshots i see that it's not(Android 4.2.2).
Blaming Samsung? Seriously? That is a misdirection. It worked fine on my Samsung device until the December 8th update.
Take repsonsibility please.
Please follow that link - https://code.google.com/p/android/issues/detail?id=78377.
If you only could knew how much we do to make samsung crappy devices work better...

Oh, I was left out, I thought Android 4.2.2 is still the latest for phones, I was never interested enough to find out exactly, sorry for my ignorance.
I was under the impression that if I download the app through the Google Play market, I'd get the latest version of it.
I downloaded this (apparently v2 version) a month ago when I got this phone, and it didn't update itself yet.
Or is v3 a version that I need to pay for and that's why it didn't even come up as a result when I searched it on the marketplace?
Please respond.
"watch a video ad to get 5 more tactics" doesn't work for me.
Completely agree, video ads are the most annoying thing ever.
GnrfFrtzl, there are two chess.com apps on the Play Store, Chess Classic which is v2 and Chess Play and Learn which is v3. The v2 app is no longer supported and they should probably remove it. The v3 app is current and updated, and it is free.

Thank you very much, that explains everything, then. It's a bit weird, though, now that I think about it.
@alien_roger,
I read your entire thread the first time and it stops at December 4th, so please explain to me how there is something in there relevant to the faulty update that was issued on December 8th?
And even if there are issues with creating apps for Samsung devices, and you presumably knew this, why would you release an update if you know these issues exist?
Did you try NOT releasing the update?

Nevermind, I downloaded it, and it's a complete mess compared to the older, simplistic style (1/3 of the size, and a lot faster as well). I'm sticking to V2, and continue reading articles and forums on my laptop.
Well golly... at the risk of being a fanboy... this app is incredibly ambitious and largely error free, especially for a small development group. I'd say it's the most impressive app I've ever used actually, knowing a wee bit about what goes into software development (most people don't consider just how much work goes into integrating an app with this feature set into a website). Given that EVERY app on the Play Store that has any degree of integration with web servers has bugs (at least the ones I have used), the chess.com app is way above the bar for "very good". Even if alienroger didn't respond to my desperate call to fix whatever is preventing me from watching IM Kierwa deliver a blitz beat down... :-P

We didn't know about that bug on samsung devices. We can't test EVERY android device(there are really a lot of them). On our current environment we did tests and it's working fine. W/o crashes and issues. To track crashes we use special system that helps us to understand when on some remote device crash happen, and we fix it and then update version. New version with fixes will be released this week.

We are investigating this issue, i have nothing to say more here :P
Not a bug, but (for me) an annoying feature: when I fail to solve the tactics, I tap on "solution" button. In last version the delay between all moves (when showing the solution) was a bit bigger. In new version - especially when the task is not the one- or two-move-problem - the computer shows all moves too fast, I simply cannot keep up, and have to go through solution with the analysis board.
Maybe you can increase this delay a bit...
...
Well, to not be considered as one who just complains, I must admit, that new features in version are going into really better direction. The most useful for me are move list and ability to change game to next/previous by sliding on the screen. But I didn't find all of the new features yet...
Thanks for your work!

No, V2 should remain. Forum browsing there is superior in one sense compared to V3 - You can view user profiles by tapping their usernames. V3 cannot do this (in addition to its crashing bug when viewing my Stats).
