Dang, considering buying one so that I could play against my Nephew.
I cannot find ANYWHERE whether they would follow through with making it compatible with online play on Chess.com. :'(

I was also disappointed to see their app is only compatible with Android 11 devices and they don't offer a web app in lieu of that. That means if your phone or tablet is running a lower Android version you are S.O.L. My phone and tablet aren't very old and I have no compelling need to replace either JUST to take advantage of all the ChessUp features (neither device has v11 update available). No idea why they did this because the other popular chess computer manufacturers have apps that work well with Android versions as old as 4 Maybe I'll wait until one of my devices is ready to be replaced and by then they may have addressed some of the other issues in this thread.
I've ended up taking the dive. Majority of the features on Android are not reliable enough.
After a each game, the board can get out of sync with the app.
It's frustrating and so I am considering refunding the board and sticking with a competitors instead.
Version 1.1.7 app has dropped today but its still carrying over bugs from 1.1.6. I am doing further testing but its not promising so far.
I cannot recommend this board to anyone because of the current state of the app. The board should had still stayed in kick-starter instead of going retail. Only OTB offline works well.

The issues from previous app versions have been addressed. We rebuilt the app and released the new version in May 2023.
If you are still having any outstanding issues - please let us know through our email support or forum.
Just got my ChessUp board yesterday and as it is the holiday season, I thought I'd issue a warning for Android users: look up the ChessUp app in Play Stire and read the reviews + go to their website and click community and read the problems posted there. I've so far had the same problems listed on both and their app hasn't been updated since Oct 5.
