True. Hyperbullet is much easier than bullet. I suck at bullet too.

I suck at everything in chess

Just practice, and as long as you have fun it's totally fine happy.png

What I’m trying to say is you are more angry losing in the longer time control games because you invested more time in them. When you play shortest time control possible, your anger and sadness are short lived too.

Not for me! I feel like I'm okay as long as I played well in my game...

That’s excellent attitude 👍I hope I can feel like that too🙏

Generally, I win a lot more games than I lose, and I rarely lose a lot more than I win happy.png

That doesn't mean I don't get absolutely destroyed sometimes happy.png I've played chess for 8-9 years now, so I think I've picked up enough to be able to win a bit tongue.png

Okay, you've only played 20 games though. Is this rapid? Try to play longer games until you can see free pieces and other things...

Was in high school. Our team was playing in the scholastic state championship.

My team mate next to me was having a very bad game. But then his opponent [call him MF] blundered to allow my team mate to infiltrate with his queen and start checking. While my team mate missed the winning line, he did manage to achieve a perpetual check. So he said "it's a draw." But MF disagreed.  So my team mate played a few more checks and said "I claim a draw by repetition of the position."

MF said he couldn't do that, and went to get the tournament director. The TD looked at the score sheets and said yes, the position had repeated 3 times. A draw can be claimed there.

MF got all mad and tore up his score sheet and stormed off.

The next part I was not present for, but I heard about it. Was the next week.  That team was playing a different team. This MF lost his game and resigned. But when his opponent reached across to shake his hand--MF pulled him across the table and decked him.

So about 2 weeks later, we were playing that same team. MF had been kicked off the team, of course. But his younger brother had inherited his board. The match was just starting, we were about 8 moves in. MF walks in and tells his brother "Dad says you can come home now, or stay here forever!" So his brother shrugged, resigned, and left the room.

Use your instinct for normal moves and when your confused by your opponent’s move take your time and figure it out;) after all you have plenty of time.

And or play bullet

I personally tend to listen to music while I play. It usually does the trick~

And play shorter time modes. I used to play only rapids, now I'm enjoying blitz too much lol.

Hey! I have been struggling with this same issue for a while now and my answer to this is very long, so I wrote one post on this topic here: https://www.chess.com/forum/view/community/how-to-deal-with-chess-and-anger

For me it sounds like you simply don't like chess. If you don't have fun, and you feel unable to take your time thinking through your moves, maybe chess just isn't a game for you. Personally, when chess stops being fun, I quit. And when I feel motivated again, I start playing again.

Quit Chess.... cuz you'll just come back to it eventually and repeat the process
