if his two pawns are kingly, then draw.

oh very tactical indeed.
Well played
I had one that was going on forever... so I politely asked the person (who only had 3 pawns vs my queen, bishop, 2 rooks, a knight and 4 pawns) if they wanted me to checkmate, or save the time (as the person only made 1 move a day) and just resign. Thankfully, the person finally resigned after reading that message. Perhaps because of the polite message, maybe that was what made them finally hit the button, as the person had struck me as quite stubborn throughout the game, who knows...
I see all sorts of opinions on the matter of whether to resign or make a person stick it out until they checkmate, but it is of my opinion that if a person is clearly in a hopelessly lost game, at least in correspondance chess which takes many days or multiple months, it is the sportsmanlike thing to do to admit defeat is the only possible outcome and resign.
