Any tips? - Why haven't I gotten better at chess?

Basically ever since I reached the bot 1400 David I have absolutely FAILED chess standards. I was doing so good! I got from a 250 rating bot to 1300 bot in less than one week. I train chess everyday basically when i'm not doing chores, eating, sleeping, or being educated, you can see me4 playing chess online or offline, or even watching games and reading books. Ive tried to find reasons online from different chess icons like GothamChess, and Anna Cramling but nothing has helped. I haven't improved. And along with that I play a lot of rapid games but the thing is um....I am really bad with time. I'll have one minute on the clock and not notice it. My rating has gone from 548 to 400 LITERALLY SINCE YESTERDAY. I can't do this anymore and i'm even considering quitting chess. Any tips? sad

One, don't quit. Unless you honestly don't enjoy playing chess. Everyone loses, that should not be the reason you quit. Two, castle as soon as you can. King safety is your number one priority. Three, get all of your peices into the fight. And make sure that they protect each other. Four, stay even when trading material. Five, study your own games. Wins AND loses. See move by move if you could have made better choices. I looked at some of your games. I think 10 minutes is too fast of a time control. Play longer games, slow down and give yourself time to think. I hope I have helped. Good luck.

You are not playing chess. You are playing speed chess. You will never improve doing that. If you're not enjoying losing and you're not willing to slow down and analyze your games, then you should probably quit.

I appreciate all the support thanks

One you didn't say you were doing is tactics problems. Your a diamond member, you have unlimited problems. At your rating level, tactics are the biggest thing. I checked a few games and you are doing stuff like not counting the number of attackers and defenders -- like you didn't win a piece by taking his piece, and then taking the piece that recaptures for free. No book or course can get you in the habit of counting, you need to do tactics problems.

The level of the problems may start too hard so that is maybe frustrating for a little bit. But once you fail some problems you'll get served problems at your level.

Tactics are helpful, but the issue is here I get the EXACT same one VERY often

Chesstempo has over 80,000 problems. Even if the # is vastly lower at your rating level, I'm sure your not actually seeing the same one. Its just that your still at the stage your not counting properly, missing one and two move tactics, so a lot of the problems are going to look similar. Get them right and you'll move onto more complex stuff. Do only the untimed mode until you get stronger.
