Heavy  metal is like the devil's whisper. Any kind of music that worships satan is bad.

What about Venom?  I challenge you to find anything "Satanic" in the lyrics of Venom.

These days there are Black Metal, Black Death, those have satanic lyrics. All are derived from Heavy Metal.

Not so much whether it has those lyrics, but the pyschological effect behind it.

These kids today, with their pot and sex.

I've been listening to all sorts of Metal for over 30 years and I am not a spawn of Satan. Stereotypes only keep people blind. Intelligent people can read/listen/watch whatever and their mind will be able to process their own opinions.

Artch

There's even a group called Lamb of God.  Pretty sure they're Christian.

Those are the lame bands though.

Pagan's Mind is a great progressive metal band.  They're not Satanic as their thing is outside of Christian canon.

Pearl Jam, Soundgarden, and Nirvana are strictly grunge bands, and grunge is not a subgenre of metal, rather a subgenre of alternative rock.  Alice in Chains on the other hand is a grunge/metal fusion so that counts.  And isn't the OP the guy that started the Iron Maiden group that isn't active any more?

How is it these religious people always have to butt in? :P

Yeah metal is all about Satan and everyone listening to it are spawns of hell who would cut their mom's throats in a mere second for their true master, Satan :)

Lamb of God is pretty decent even though they're mainstream. But hey you know, from Metallica over Kyuss and Eyehategod to Meshuggah, The Ocean, Immortal, Inquisition, Cannabis Corpse, Walls of Jericho, Heaven Shall Burn, Hatebreed, AmenRa, Baroness, Neurosis, Ufomammut and A GAZILLION MORE awesome bands, it's hard to make choices on who's more Satanic. Wink wink nudge nudge.

Going to join this team though.

Metal on bitchez! And hail Seitan!

They are not a Christian band. Listen to the lyrics sometime.

Artch

Pretty sure I'm right.  Quote some lyrics for me, and I'll weigh in with my thoughts.

Guys please...

From wikipedia:

The lyrical themes of the band often have a double meaning. They frequently use biblical references, but often convey anti-religious sentiment, as in Sacrament's "Blacken the Cursed Sun." Many of their songs have political themes, especially in the albums As the Palaces Burn and Ashes of the Wake. The band also has many misanthropic or apocalyptic songs, such as "Reclamation." The song "Omerta" from the album Ashes of the Wake refers to Omertà, also known as the Italian Mafia law of silence. The Ashes of the Wake album featured many songs critical of the war in Iraq, such as "Hourglass" and the instrumental title track. Though an instrumental, this song makes use of two audio recordings of former staff sergeant and former Marine Jimmy Massey giving an interview about the war. Lyrical themes that the band frequently explores are hypocrisy and other faults in the personality, particularly on songs such as "Choke Sermon" and "Pathetic."
