Anyone Else Super Offended When Someone Tries Scholars Mate on You ??

It is...ugh lol. Its just offensive, especially at my high rating I STILL SEE THIS.  (Note I dont use chess.com unless it is for forum topics or playing against a few friends, so it says im rated 1300, I'm actually 1998).  

But SERIOUSLY!?  Like I can nly imagine its some noob or some...I'm sorry to vent randomly, but, UGH!!

So many things you can't do these days without offending someone somewhere.

I guess you are complaining about the level of play of 2000 rated players on lichess. The 2000 rated players here don't usally try for Scholar's Mate.

You might be rated 2000 here if you actually played enough games to get a real rating.

You have only played 8 rated games here against low rated players and you won them all.

You have to play against a few higher rated players and maybe lose a few games to get an idea of what your real rating should be.

besides, I only made this account to lay with friends who use this site. I dont want to use this account to play. literally all but one of the people ive played on here was a friend of mine, and of course they suck, they know it, but I try to be nice and play stupidish to make them happy.

I think there's just a huge ego problem at play here. All @justbefair was saying is that you claim to be 2000 level, but saying that lichess rating is different than chess.com rating, and suggesting you play more games to get a true rating. You react calling it 'lame belittlement'. Scholar's mate, while not fully solid, isn't that bad of an opening compared to some meme openings that could actually be considered disrespectful, such as the bongcloud. Honestly, just quiet down, calm down, and deal with your ego.

pish posh, say what you want. We are all entitled to our opinions. However, Ive never even seen anyone play the bongcloud on me, out of over 2k games. Ive seen a lot worse though, tying the Hamerschlang attack (or something like that) 1.f3 2. Kf2. I think even the Patzer move is better than the scollars mate attempt (though very similar looking). Hell ive even sen people who endlessly move their Knight back and forth while I literally do whatever I want regardless if its bad or not.

Nope. mostly cos they don't bother at my rating. If the scholar's mate offends you, though, try a black opening that makes it impossible to do like the sicilian, french, caro, pirc or any other non e5 openings for black XD

There's not much that posting here can do about the level of play over there.

I play at the 1600 level here and can't remember the last time someone tried to play the Scholar's Mate against me.

Oh, I was just watching his game. About 10 moves ago his opponent hung a piece in two different ways, and @ISwearImNotInsane didn't take in either way. Not exactly how I think a 1998 would play.

i'm usually the one trying scholars mate, and seriously stop hating. it's a decent opening for lower elo players, and if you actually took the time to play games, you would probably not see it as much. I don't want to start a violent uprising, but like, seriously, dude, just stop complaining about everything.

No. I don't really see the point in playing a game if you're going to purposely play bad moves.

If you actually tried to play good, you could give them advice during the game to help them. I don't know about them, but I certainly wouldn't want my higher rated friends to go easy on me.
