i like it but im not in the mood right now, i have to study first... i cant find no plans and all half baked plans lead to me blundering.
Anyone here hate advanced chess like me?
What do you mean by "advanced chess" anyway?
Engine aided correspondence chess, or...
I mean engine aided correspondence chess.

WRONG! Such chess exists. When you play correspondence chess, you have to check the site you are playing at as to whether you can use an engine. Not all sites are chess.com or USCF.

@ThrillerFan: So, when using engines during a correspondence chess game, it may not be cheating, as long as the game is not on Chess.com. Is that what you mean?
If so, then you have a point. Still, this topic seems to fit much better in the Cheating Forum, and the thread would be risk-free from being locked there.
Please note, however, that I did not deny the existence of "such chess."

im noticing it gets to be a lot more pressure and very difficult as you climb the ranks - its more fun to play games that are easy to win hehe but then its also fun to see improvement in my game
i hear what you're saying though
by the way, i like to think that no one uses an engine when they play me, although i notice sometimes, players get stronger and stronger as the game goes on (kind of like the chessmaster)
I never tried it. I thought about trying it from time to time, but I'm reluctant since I figure that one needs superior strategical skills to be good at it.
I like correspondence like on chess.com without engine, it's like "old" correspondence chess. Many strong player, like Alekhine, Keres or Euwe grew playing correspondence, and engine use simply ruins that, because a complete patzer can set up his new houdini 3.0 on a i7 quad core pc and then beat anyone without so much chess understanding. I'm glad that here engine use is forbidden, because I can play almost only online.
ICCF and LSS, which are the two biggest correspondence chess servers, do allow engine aid.
"Advanced chess" is very different from OTB chess, because it requires different skills.
There are many woodpushers who have a shiny new ultra-fast computer, plus a Houdini 3, and go to one of those servers to play, thinking that becoming a correspondence GM will be just a matter of time.
Of course they revise after being badly beaten a dozen of times, and come to the conclusion that advanced chess sucks bigtime.
Don't know if you are referring to me lol, I never palyed advanced chess, simply don't understand the idea of using engines, because I always think that chess is a war between human minds.

You can play advanced chess here too, as long as the games are unrated and both parties agree. There's even a Advanced chess group

It is sad that guys miss the point about the inherent nature of chess theory, whether engines play or humans do. It makes me question if they'd even get it, after such an experience and try to apply what they've learned in "real chess" instead of "false chess" .... it is the only practical use for such a thing IMO, but the end product still doesn't justify the means.

Anand said a few days ago that Chess can be artistic except when you play Advanced Chess.
Said during a short interview for a Spanish radio station.

At some point, if you have equal computers and engines, it comes down to the art of over lapping analyses and taking advantage of the inherent nature of chess theory. These things are the only skill involved, but still these things aren't generally uncovered from one's own skill, so it is still crap.....
